Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^

Day one:

I went with ~Axels-Grrl to the convention. We split up when we got there because I had to meet up with some friends for a photoshoot.

Once the DGM group was done, I got my chance to take some lovely photos:

Those were most of the cosplay pictures I took. Soon I got bored so I left to look around the place, see what was there to buy. Got two "How to draw manga" books since they were half-off and two mangas. Went to the artist alley and saw ~bjhu. She gave me some free book-marks, thank you!

One our way home, ~Axels-Grrl and I got lost. We must have missed a turn since we were talking to much and weren't paying much attention to where we were. Went to far west and almost ended up at the lake, lol. Thank goodness some nice people at the gas station we stopped at helped us out with directions.

Day two:

The stress from Saturday really got to me );
Though I still went to the con., didn't cosplay though. Wanted to relax a bit and hang out with some people, which I would say that was a success. Mostly hung out with ~bjhu at her table. Next year I'm going to be sure to get a table

Hokai, that frog plushie...got it for $9. It was originally $25, but the people selling it brought the prices down on sunday. So glad I got it, it's freaking soft~<3

And that Mokona plushie, it has a string in the back and when you pull it, it makes the plush spin around >w<
